What you will learn?
Welcome to flute lesson 1, where we are going to learn how to play flute! We will learn the parts of the flute, how to put the flute together, embouchure & how to make a sound. Along with the basics of flute, we are going to learn some theory as well! We’ll learn the treble clef, beginning rhythms of whole notes and whole rests. And to get us started, we are going to learn the note G. And of course, we have to learn how to properly take apart our flutes and clean them. It’s important to clean our instruments every time we are done playing to keep our flutes well maintained. There’s no time like today to get started on playing flute!

About the course
In this course, we'll teach you throughout the entire Standard of Excellence as if we were taking private lessons. We'll learn how to make a sound, read sheet music, and fingerings to the notes. We'll play along with the exercises, duets, and performance pieces.

Reesa has been playing flute since 1998 & alto saxophone since 2003. She's attended many band camps, all state honor bands, and had a full ride to CSU-Pueblo. Now she's passionate about making music education more accessible.
